The Referral Process

How to access our service in four simple steps

Make Initial Contact

Contact our coordinator by phone or email to discuss your needs and determine if our service is right for your family.

Complete Referral Form

Download and complete the ACCS Referral Form. This helps us understand your family's situation and specific needs.

Submit Documentation

Return the completed form to our coordinator. We will review the information and may contact you for additional details.

Arrange First Visit

Once your referral is accepted, we'll work with you to schedule your first visit at a mutually convenient time.

Who Can Make a Referral?

Professional Referrals

  • Courts - as part of court orders
  • Solicitors - on behalf of clients
  • Social Workers - for families they support
  • Family Mediators
  • Health Visitors

Self-Referrals

Parents can refer themselves directly to our service if they believe a neutral meeting place would help facilitate contact with their children.

Both parents should ideally agree to use the service for it to be most effective.

What Information Is Needed?

When completing the referral form, you'll need to provide:

  • Contact details for both parents
  • Children's names and ages
  • Current contact arrangements (if any)
  • Any court orders or legal arrangements in place
  • Reasons for requesting the service
  • Any safety concerns or special considerations
  • Details of any professional involvement (social workers, solicitors, etc.)

Confidentiality: All information provided is treated with strict confidentiality and used only to help us provide the best possible service to your family.

What Happens Next?

Once we receive your completed referral form, our coordinator will review it and contact you to discuss:

  • Whether our service is appropriate for your situation
  • Any additional information we may need
  • Scheduling your first visit
  • Answering any questions you may have

We aim to respond to all referrals within 5 working days.
